Co-Seismic Inversion and Post-Seismic Deformation Mechanism Analysis of 2019 California Earthquake

چکیده

In July 2019, a series of seismic events, including magnitude (Mw) 7.1 mainshock and Mw 6.4 foreshock, occurred in Eastern California. Studying these events can significantly improve our understanding the California tectonic environment. Sentinel-1A ALOS-2 PALSAR images were utilized to obtain co-seismic deformation fields, foreshock deformation. The Okada elastic dislocation model ascending descending orbit results used invert slip distribution focal mechanism solution. Using images, time-series was obtained for 402 d after earthquake, evolution analyzed. maximum uplift caused by reached 1.5 m line sight (LOS), subsidence 1 LOS. For area remained active, its dominated after-slip. inversion illustrated that earthquakes mainly strike-slip. approximately 7.08. Coulomb stress change moment 4.24 × 1026 N m, which is 7.06. This finding consistent with results.

The characteristics of post-seismic surface deformation of the Wenchuan MS8.0 earthquake from InSAR

Using the D-InSAR technology, we have analyzed the Japanese satellite ALOS/PALSAR data after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and obtained four strips of ground deformation spanning about one year, which cover the Yingxiu town, Wenchuan, Shifang, Maoxian county, Beichuan, Pingwu and Qingchuan county in Sichuan Province. Precise interferometric baseline is estimated using ground control points of kn...

PALSAR SAR Interferometry for co-seismic deformation monitoring of Wenchuan Earthquake

Satellite differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar (DInSAR) has already demonstrated its potential to map co-, postand inter-seismic deformation since its successful application to the 1992 Landers Earthquake. The Ms 8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake, which occurred on 12 May 2008, was the strongest earthquake to strike China since the 1976 Tangshan earthquake. The devastation of the quake w...

A rheological model of post - seismic deformation for the 2001 Kunlun , China earthquake , Mw 7 . 8

The Mw7.8 Kunlun earthquake of 14 November, 2001, in the northern Tibetan Plateau of China, was the largest event in the Chinese continental area in the latest 50 years. In this paper, layered visco-elastic models are calculated using the PSGRN/ PSCMP code, and the results are fi tted to the observed post-seismic deformation. We show that a model of a surface anelastic layer of 10km thickness o...

The effects of rheological layering on post-seismic deformation

S U M M A R Y We examine the effects of rheological layering on post-seismic deformation using models of an elastic layer over a viscoelastic layer and a viscoelastic half-space. We extend a general linear viscoelastic theory we have previously proposed to models with two layers over a half-space, although we only consider univiscous Maxwell and biviscous Burgers rheologies. In layered viscoela...

Geologic Constraints on Seismic Inversion

Velocity model estimation from seismic data using prestack depth migration is an un-derdetermined problem: there are many subtly diierent models which are not kinematically equivalent. As these models can give rise to dramatically diierent interpretations and decisions there is a clear need for a selection criterion in order to choose the "best" (i.e. geologically most plausible) one. Interpret...
